All things bright and beautiful
It’s April 2020 and we’re living in strange times due to the Coronavirus worldwide pandemic. Tapestry Touring International’s second project ‘Interface’, featuring English and Canadian weavers, opened in England and only lost two days of its run before the UK lockdown. Currently Interface’s planned exhibition programme, in both countries, is uncertain; which is very depressing after all the work we’ve put into the show.
I then had a bit of a lightbulb moment and thought an online exhibition could, at the very least, momentarily give us all something else to think about. Should our theme be Coronavirus, or should we celebrate life and the world around us? Lindsey Marshall and I decided we all needed some colour and joy in our lives, and ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ was born.
My thanks go to all the UK, Canadian, Australian and American weavers who have previously exhibited with Tapestry Touring International and quickly looked through their photo archives to find their ‘Bright and Beautiful’ tapestries. As always my heartfelt thanks to Lindsey Marshall for actually making it happen.
